TayZonday tells us how he came up with his YouTube username:
"When I created a YouTube account in early 2007, I wanted a catchy artist name that had zero search results on Google. I entered catchy names on Google and 'Tay Zonday' got zero search results. That way, I knew the name would be mine. It was also easy to spell if somebody overheard 'Tay Zonday' in conversation and pretty easy to remember. I registered tayzonday.com, tayzonday.net and took the name on Google. I signed up for many websites as 'TayZonday' to claim the name. Now whenever there's a new website, I usually have to ask if I can have the name 'TayZonday' because somebody else took it first. Then I show up as 'Tay Zonday' and people think I'm impersonating me."
